Not only was this significant because I love owls buy for several reasons.
One of which is that Owls are known as Guardians to Most Native American culture. The other is that an owl always seems to show itself to me or my mother at times or trial...almost as a sign for us to know that everything will be alright.
One appeared to my mom when her father, my grandfather, passed away. It so happened that right before I went outside I had just finished repairing an item of his that was given to me that our puppy had managed to get a hold of and chew on. It was a small magnifying glass that most people probably would have thrown away after getting chewed on but it was the only thing I had of his and I just couldn't part with it. So I pieced it back together and was quite proud of the result, especially considering the state it was in. It was a complete 180° from how I felt earlier in the evening.
Something else to note here...we've lived here for several years and know the wildlife that resides here as well. Not once had anyone in my family had an owl sighting.
So with the day being rotten (to say the least) and then to be thinking of my grandfather - Pa, I called him, while fixing something that belonged to him... Well there is no doubt in my mind that the Owl was a sign or an omen of sorts. That someone is watching over me.

After writing this post on my iPhone, my Beagle Daphne started begging to go outside. I just came back to double check that my story indeed posted and had to note that while outside with my dogs *just now* I heard the owl hoot AGAIN. I feel very comforted tonight...
